Dallas Charles Lewis
May 23, 1975 - July 14, 2023
In the vast macrocosm symphony of life, a radiant soul, Dallas Charles Lewis, blazed, and his presence ignited our spirits, leaving us breathless in awe. Those dimples and his mesmerizing blue eyes were powerful enough to enrapture hearts, imprinting their beauty upon those lucky to gaze into their depths. Born on May 23, 1975, Out on the Mira, Dallas graced our world magnificently until July 14, 2023, departing unexpectedly at age 48 – a period as fleeting and awe-inspiring as a shooting star streaking across the night sky.
Dallas was the son of the late Charlie Lewis. He is survived by his mother, Bonnie (Romeril) Lewis, his grandmother, Irene Romeril, and his wife, Eirinn (Fraser) Lewis. He was the grandson of the late Charles and Jessie Lewis and Alfred Romeril. He leaves behind his Mother-in-law, Bernadette (Sampson) Fraser; Uncle Dean and Aunt Candy Romeril; sisters-in-law Cathy (Fraser) MacDonald and Tonya Fraser; and his dearly loved nephews and niece: Tyler (Jane Nickerson), Gavin (Ester-Ruth Teel) Fraser, Dylan (Molly Crosby) MacDonald, Codey MacDonald, and Kayla (Kyle Melong) MacDonald, whom he loved as though they were his own and his American Eskimo babies, Nanuq Noel, Nikita Eloise, Kottah Cuba, and his baby doll Nuttah May, who was always by his side; Dallas was predeceased by his father-in-law, Edgar Fraser, Uncle Bob Romeril and his beloved pets: Jumper, Patrick, Happy, Toby, Fantasia, and Sebastian. With unwavering fortitude, he stood as a towering pillar of strength, fiercely protecting and nurturing his beloved family. His dependable presence was a constant source of support as he shared his profound passion for existence's simple, awe-inspiring beauty. The intensity of his love for us knew no bounds, and his sudden departure has left us heartbroken, grappling with the profound loss of a man who embodied strength and integrity.

Dallas's legacy transcends time as a multidimensional man who excelled in every facet of existence. He thirsted for knowledge in school, soaking up the world's wisdom like a sponge, a testament to his insatiable curiosity. He inspired others to reach for greatness. A Dean and Principal's list and honour roll student, he graduated from Sydney Academy, MBAA Brewing and Malting at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, O-I Glass University in Ohio and University College of Cape Breton with a BSc in Chemistry. He was a paragon of dedication and innovation in his work, a true craftsman who took great pride in his career: Maritime Beer Company (Brewer), Sleeman Breweries (Quality Assurance Technician), and Route 19 Brewing (Brewmaster).
But beneath the genius of Dallas's intellect, boundless compassion, empathy, and kindness truly set him apart. His heart was a wellspring of love, pouring forth to uplift those around him, offering a listening ear or a helping hand without hesitation. To know Dallas was to be touched by his effervescent energy, a contagious thrill for life and adventure, reminding us of the simplicity and joy! His infectious laughter echoed through our hearts; it was a melody that lingered long after the song had already ended. One of his greatest passions was the water and riding the wind and waves on his windsurfer, and no better day than one with the dogs.
"You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I could not stand being without you. At one time, I didn't know what true love was, but know, without a doubt, I love you" DL 1995. "For twenty-eight years, eight months and three days, Dal was my go-to person for sharing triumphs, excitement, challenges, and everything and anything in between. Our relationship was paramount to my success, and my entire existence revolved around him. I lost my heart on Cape Breton Island to the man with the soul and the eyes of the sea! Dallas, my sweet prince, I refuse to say goodbye, for it implies an end. Instead, I eagerly await the reunion of our souls in the infinite expanse of existence, loving you for eternity and beyond the cosmic horizon!" "It was not my ear you whispered but my heart and not my lips you kissed but my soul." JG
As we mourn his physical absence, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he led, etching his name into the tapestry of our memories. His light may seem distant, like a star, but it continues to shine, guiding us through life's journey. Dallas, your memory shall be our guiding beacon in the night sky, reminding us of our brilliance.
Dallas's life will be celebrated on August 10, 2023, at 5:30 PM, at the Fortress of Louisbourg, not to mourn but to celebrate the remarkable presence he bestowed upon us.
The Dallas Lewis Legacy Fund will carry forth his empathetic and bright spirit, touching lives and making the world a better place, just as he did throughout his extraordinary journey. Together, we'll keep his light alive and honour the celestial dance of his soul.
