Sara Bateman is a strategist, facilitator, and evaluator who brings over 15 years of cross-sector experience in public, corporate, and nonprofit spaces. A graduate of the University of Waterloo’s Social Innovation Graduate Program, she uses systems thinking and adaptive strategy to help organizations navigate complexity and catalyze social change.

Through her consultancy, Blue Castle Creative, Sara supports clients in co-creating emergent strategies, social impact evaluations, and governance practices rooted in equity, community insight, and learning. She is particularly passionate about developmental evaluation and helping organizations uncover key patterns and data that drive meaningful change.

Sara’s approach is relational and restorative. She facilitates the hard conversations, uncovers hidden assumptions, and works to embed principles of rest, equity, and adaptation into social impact efforts. Whether designing a philanthropic strategy, guiding a systems-change initiative, or navigating evaluation in messy contexts, Sara brings a balance of deep analysis and care.
