The Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia supports community-based initiatives in rural Nova Scotia which:
• improves understanding of issues facing rural people.
• convenes people to find local solutions to problems and challenges.
• supports, enhances, and sustains rural environments.
• fosters leadership, equity, gender-equality, and environmental stewardship.
Grant Impact Report 2022
The RCFNS Grant Impact Report aims to provide a deeper understanding of the impacts of the various grants awarded by RCFNS on rural communities across the province. Eight impact interviews were conducted in February and March of 2022 with eight past and current RCFNS grant recipients. From the interviews, it was clear that the grants had significant short-term and long-term impacts on the grant recipients, project participants, and the wider community in which the project was located. In addition, the RCFNS grants helped address disparities between rural and urban regions, particularly for disparities experienced disproportionately by marginalized populations.
