Welcoming (False) Spring and the Fire Horse Energy

The first hints of spring are in the air - even if we know better than to trust them completely. This “false spring” teases us with sunlight and birdsong, but the chill lingers just beneath the surface. It’s a fitting metaphor for this particular season of life - full of forward motion but still requiring patience.

The Lunar New Year moved us from the Year of the Wood Snake into the Year of the Fire Horse: a symbol of bold energy, independence, and transformation. It’s a year that calls us to move, create, and speak up, but it can also stir restlessness or burnout if we don’t pace ourselves. Lately, I’ve felt both sides of that energy - the excitement to ride the wave of change and the reminder that fires, if left untended, can burn too hot.

So today, instead of pushing harder, I’m taking a gentler approach – I'm taking a moment to respect the shedding we were called to do with the Wood Snake in 2025. This weekend, I’ll be stepping back - resting, reflecting, and remembering that tending to myself is part of the work, not apart from it. Consider this a collective exhale, a small pause as we prepare for what’s next.

Here’s to honoring the spark, but also the stillness — both are needed to keep the fire alive. #DeepBreath #Rest
