Soaring Eagle Fund 2022 Fine Arts Grants
The Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia Soaring Eagle Fund 2022 Fine Arts Grants are for individuals identifying as S2LGBTQ+ or those working within the S2LGBTQ+ communities.
The 2022 fine arts grants are up to one thousand dollars per project.
These grants are designed to support fine arts projects in rural Nova Scotia for the S2LGBTQ+ communities or fine arts projects for those identifying as S2LGBTQ+.
In addition, these grants will foster local artists and improve and grow opportunities for creative workers!
(Rural communities” excludes the urban areas of the Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford) and Sydney)

● February 11th, 2022 at 5:00pm AST: Application Deadline
● July 15th, 2022 at 5:00pm AST: Project and Grant Completion
●August 12th, 2022 5:00pm AST: Final Report Due Date
Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia (RCFNS) will only accept applications submitted with the online form.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be considered for this grant, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
The grantee(s) must be a resident of rural Nova Scotia as defined above or have some direct connection to rural Nova Scotia.
The grantee(s) must identify or directly work with the S2LGBTQ+ communities.
The project must be within the fine arts disciplines.
The applicant organization must be a Qualified donee as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency which can include registered charities or First Nations and other registered municipal or public bodies performing a function of government in Canada.
FUNDING LIMITATIONS
Soaring Eagle Fund 2022 Fine Arts Grants will not provide funding to cover deficits or retire debt.
The program/service that is the project’s focus must be directed toward a fine arts project.
If a project exceeds one thousand dollars, you must demonstrate how you will accomplish the project goals in your budget.
Applicants must identify as or work with the S2LGBTQ+ community.
GRANT REQUIREMENTS (Impact and Promotion)
Grantees will be available for two regional or virtual workshops, one for training and the other for showcasing their funded project. Dates for these workshops will be announced at a later date.
RCFNS highlights the impact of its granting programs through ‘vital conversations’ with grantees, both in-person (where possible) and by virtual means (live streaming, webpage, Twitter and Facebook). The final report will be in the form of a short presentation showcasing the project presented or displayed at the same workshop as the ‘vital conversation.’
A short final report and video will also be required.
Grantees must agree to their name and the organization’s voice, image, and story utilized by RCFNS to highlight and promote the Soaring Eagle Fund and Grants and the work of The Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia.
Youth under 18 years of age must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to participate in these grants, vital conversations and promotional activities. It must be supplied at the time of grant application.
Participants are encouraged to document all stages of their projects via social media or other methods and stay in contact with the project training cohort and foundation staff if they need assistance. We will be organizing a public event at the end of the project period to showcase the RCFNS Soaring Eagle Fund 2022 Fine Arts Grants. We welcome photographs of your organization or activities for RCFofNS’ communications tools, including use on the website, annual report, or articles.
