Joan Feynman Climate Change Fund

Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia (RCFNS) is pleased to offer Joan Feynman Climate Change (formerly Community Sparks Fund) Grants for climate change related projects throughout Nova Scotia. These small matching grants are designed to support innovative, community-based action and to promote environmentally sustainable, socially supportive, and economically thriving communities.

The funded projects will meet a demonstrated need in rural Nova Scotia and will promote leadership, raise public awareness on climate change issues and encourage racial, economic or gender equality. We are interested in seeing your creative and innovative ideas, your own plans for how to work with the people, resources and natural environment of your community.

Grants Available: $5000 for general projects, $2000 for youth grants
As these are matching grants, community support is required. Grantees must be able to provide a 50% match from community-based or local sources to qualify for matching funds from the RCFNS Joan Feynman Climate Change Fund.

Beginning of Application Period: May 1, 2021
