Director - Liam Mason

Liam Mason is a valuation professional, small-business owner, and local historian whose work and voluntary service have driven efficiency and engagement across higher education, social, and commercial sectors. A two-time graduate of Saint Mary’s University, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Economics and Marketing and a Master of Arts in Atlantic Canada Studies, Liam’s academic and professional interests centre on civic life, public history, cultural advocacy, and the enduring vitality of Nova Scotia’s diverse communities.

Raised in the hinterlands of Cumberland County, Liam remains devoted to rural Nova Scotia, continuing to support his home region through his ongoing service as Secretary of the Heritage Models Association in River Hebert. Moreover, he is deeply engaged in the province’s Irish community and is an ardent proponent of Gaelic revitalization in Alba Nuadh. Currently, Liam serves in executive leadership positions on the boards of five provincial nonprofit organizations, including as Treasurer of the Celtic Cultural Society of Nova Scotia and as Historian of the Charitable Irish Society of Halifax.

Now residing in Nova Scotia’s capital, Liam is a Valuation Associate at CBRE, working in commercial real estate appraisal, and is the founder of Mason Tours, which offers historically informed walking tours exploring Halifax’s rich heritage. Through his contributions to nonprofit governance, heritage preservation, community stewardship, and regional development, Liam is dedicated to strengthening the institutions, traditions, and places that enrich the lives of Nova Scotians province-wide.
