Director-Jessica Fancy-Landry
Jessica Fancy-Landry is a dynamic and accomplished individual who has made significant contributions to rural development in Nova Scotia. With a passion for community connections and a drive to create positive change, she has emerged as a leading advocate for rural education and community development in this province.
Born and raised on a button mushroom farm in Caledonia, Queens County, Jessica developed a deep appreciation for agricultural communities from an early age. This led her to pursue degrees in education and become a strong community, non-profit volunteer, and rural advocate, where she gained a solid foundation in leadership, policy development, and community-led initiatives. Her academic achievements were marked by receiving a University Fellowship from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, with her theoretical policy framework for the prioritization of rural education and rural development in Nova Scotia.
While raising a flourishing family on the beautiful South Shore of NS and working as a teacher, principal, and leadership consultant, she has also dedicated her time to numerous non-profit and adjudicating boards throughout the province. Her work has had a profound impact on both local communities and provincial conversations surrounding rural community enterprise.
