Remembering To Rest

After a busy summer full of community projects and planning, and with an equally busy winter on the horizon, it’s time to pause and recharge. I’ll be spending the next few days in the woods and parks near my home, letting nature help me recuperate some much-needed energy. In Mi’kmaq, najimpay means I’m going to sleep—a fitting way to greet kesik (winter) and to honour the cycles of rest that nourish resilience.

This short pause is a gentle reminder: rest is both an act of caring for yourself and a strategy for keeping your spark alive in the face of ongoing demands. Next week, the blog returns with renewed focus—exploring innovative food solutions already growing across Nova Scotia, and sharing a few exciting ideas that are catching on.

Take time to rest when you can. Nmultis. See you soon.
