Rural Matters Blog Launch

To ensure the rising tide lifts all boats, we must address leaks caused by inequity and exclusion. Launching my first blog to ignite conversations about the systems shaping rural Nova Scotia, emphasizing the challenges of increasing inequity and the swift impacts of climate change.

In this series, I'll delve into how collaboration, cultural richness, and innovative approaches can shift our mindset - and some peoples' realities - from scarcity to abundance. By spotlighting hidden strengths, sharing practical tools, and fostering inclusivity, let us forge a future where every community thrives and every voice is heard. Let's join forces to create a more just, sustainable tomorrow.

A Note on Privilege and Platform

I recognize that both this platform and my own voice are privileged—this is, in many ways, the privileged speaking to the privileged. My hope is to use that privilege to open doors, amplify marginalized voices, and challenge others in positions of influence to do the same.
